Since March 2024, expat teachers from Xiehe Education have enthusiastically participated in the “Shanghai, My City” video project. This project was organized by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Shanghai Cyberspace Administration, with support from the International Communication Center of Shanghai United Media Group and the Shanghai Magnolia International Friendship Exchange Foundation, and hosted by Shanghai Daily. Through recommendations from various schools and kindergartens, expat teachers from nine SUIS schools and Fortune kindergartens produced and submitted 12 videos to the official platform.
On the evening of December 22, the “Shanghai, My City” Video Awards Gala was grandly held at the Shanghai Museum East. Out of more than 200 entries citywide, the video of Dr. Adam Neufield, Co-Principal of SUIS Qingpu, stood out and won the ‘Nominee Award’. Additionally, Xiehe Education Center was honored with the ‘Outstanding Organization Award’.
At the awards gala, Catalina Vazquez, an alumna of SUIS Pudong and now an undergraduate at Shanghai University, performed a song of ‘Jasmine Flower’ in Chinese.
Following this, the Nightingales Choir from SUIS Qingpu delivered the finale performance, ‘Auld Lang Syne’, bringing the event to a triumphant close and earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. After the performances, two students from SUIS Qingpu were interviewed by the media on-site.
