- SUIS Wuxi – 10th anniversary;
- …and more.
In the Muses Theatre, leaders from Minhang District Education Bureau, Hongqiao Town and Xiehe Education Center, representatives of the Parent Support Group, experts and consultants who have assisted with the school’s development, leaders of sister schools, alumni from all walks of life, as well as teachers and students gathered together to review the development of SUIS Hongqiao campus in its 20 years of history. It was an opportunity to tell colourful stories created by teachers and students from local and abroad in this multicultural campus, send birthday wishes to her, and envision the future development of the school.

A special Xiehe school song played by the symphony orchestra brought us back to the old times; a 20th anniversary video brought us back to the precious memories of the school’s pursuit of light and dreams since its establishment. As Linda Du, the principal of Hongqiao campus said, “The development of the school is inseparable from everyone’s efforts and dedication, and we have encountered storms and challenges along the way in the past 20 years, but we have always been able to meet these challenges and make progress together because we have firmly adhered to the philosophy of “Exploring and development together through the integration of Eastern and Western Cultures.”
Wonderful performances by teachers and students pushed the ceremony to one climax after another. In Xiehe, every child is a unique star, and every teacher is the one who polishes the star. We endeavour to polish the most unique light of each star – they have the diligence to pursue excellence, and even more, they have the motivation to develop in a comprehensive and balanced way, with unlimited creativity and the courage to show their potential and meet the unknown and the future!
The special thing about this event is that there was no special host or special interpreter, but everyone in attendance was immersed in it, just like a warm and loving family party. Guests could be suddenly called up at any time to see how much they knew about SUIS Hongqiao, and receive an exclusive cultural and creative souvenir for the school anniversary, so were you the lucky one?
Today, many other students, parents and teachers stood on the stage, some of whom spent their kindergarten, primary, middle and high school years at Xiehe, some of whom are founding teachers who have been deeply involved in teaching at Hongqiao for 20 years, some of whom work with their families together at Hongqiao and their children grow up happily here as well. …
20th Anniversary Celebrations
What are the differences between the campus now and twenty years ago? Are the classrooms still the same as before? As our alumni step foot back into SUIS Hongqiao, strolling through the campus, what remains unchanged are the warm memories of our youth, the affection and longing for our teachers and friends, and most importantly, the deep and heartfelt blessings for SUIS Hongqiao.
On the day of the school anniversary, the campus is full of special surprises tailored for alumni: “Capture the Beautiful Campus” takes you around the campus and takes photos of the exclusive moments; “My Happy Time in SUIS” invites you to sit in the time machine to find the memories of yourself, “Yesterday Once More” leads you to return to the old classroom, and “Future Classroom” creates an engaging and immersive classroom through VR and AR, and imagines the possible future teaching of SUIS.
