General Principal Maxine Lu awarded the title of National ‘Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’, 5th Session

The announcement regarding the five outstanding award recipients is made. General Principal Ms. Maxine Lu of the Xiehe Education Group is among the honoured recipients.

On the occasion of the Grand Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 5th National Non-public Economic Sector ‘Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’ meeting was held in Beijing on August 29, 2019.  Some 100 members of the non-public economic sector and new social strata were honoured as national ‘Outstanding Builders of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’.  Five outstanding representatives from Shanghai were honoured, including Ms. Maxine Lu, General Principal of the Xiehe Education Group.

The 100 individuals honoured on this occasion were outstanding representatives from the non-public economic sector and new social strata in China.  Among them, 20% of the recipients were awarded to the new social strata.  These awards represented a very encouraging recognition of the status and role of professionals outside the public system of national construction.

In 2003, Maxine joined the Xiehe Education Group’s management team and since that time has participated in and presided over the establishment of Shanghai United International School’s (SUIS) Hongqiao Campus (2003), Pudong Campus (2008), Wanyuan Campus (2012), Wuxi Campus (2013), Xiamen and Wenzhou Campuses (2017) and Hefei and Qingpu Campuses (2019).  In 2018, Ms. Lu was awarded the ‘Shanghai Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’.
