Opening of XieHe Education Teachers’ Day Celebration 2020

In order to display professional ethics and dedication spirit of XieHe people as well as praising outstanding representatives for their contributions to Covid-19 prevention and online teaching, XieHe Education Center (Group) Teachers’ Day Celebration 2020 was held on September 12, and the conference was hosted by Wang Liqiang, Secretary of General Party Branch. All participants including Decision-making Committee members, department directors of the Center (Group), affiliated schools and kindergartens Principals (both Chinese and expatriate) and staff representatives whose service period has reached ten years gathered at headquarters multifunctional conference room to witness this glory moment.

Take responsibility and strive for the mission

At the beginning of the conference, Vice Chairperson Xia Zhao, on behalf of Xiehe Education Group, extended sincere greetings and good wishes to all teaching and administrative staff. She highly affirmed efforts of Xiehe people paid in epidemic prevention and online teaching, as well as their encourage facing challenges and professional ethics. In addition, she also hoped that Xiehe people would strive for the education goal and create a brighter future through united efforts.

SUIS General Principal Maxine Lu read out the decision to issue honorary certificates and gold badges to teachers who have worked for ten years, and called on other employees to follow these role models, improve professional literacy and delicate to cultivating more talents both with integrity and ability for the new era.

A total of 68 teaching and administrative staff members were awarded honorary certificates and gold badges, including 33 from the campuses, 34 from kindergartens and 1 from Xiehe Education. Since 2013, nearly 600 staff members have been awarded this honor.

Inspire students and teach untiringly

During the session of introducing exemplary deeds, Ms. Lihui Peng, from Fortune Kindergarten Yaohua Campus, Mr. Ziyu Shan, from Jiaoke Campus, Ms. Ping Chen, from Beibei Kindergarten and Mr. Toby Jiang, from Wanyuan Campus, shared their thoughts on epidemic prevention and online teaching, and described their ten years career development in Xiehe as well as their interaction with students.

Ms. Peng introduced measures taken by kindergartens to actively carry out online home-campus co-education activities during the epidemic period, and talked about her understanding on professional development. She thought that the essence of education is resonance, practice and communication of love.

Mr. Shan briefly reviewed his ten-year experience in Xiehe, including taking charge of graduating classes, becoming head of junior middle school sector and carrying out online teaching. Through these vivid stories, the audiences can feel his pride in the career. As he said, he would dedicate himself on teaching to witness the success of the students.

Ms. Chen summarized her understanding of a qualified teacher in the following words, sticking to for love, endeavoring for profession and devoting for responsibility.

Mr. Jiang’s experience showed us good example of how PE teacher becomes an excellent class master. He also told that he felt more responsibility to his students after becoming a father and wished to be a teacher who can give students good influence in their life.

Respect teachers and promote their development

The greatness of our nation relied on education for next generation. As times move forward, the role of teachers would get more important. Respecting teachers was fine tradition of Xiehe, which is not only reflected in the annual Teachers’ Day conference, but also be the gene of campus culture.

In addition, professional development of teachers was critical for future of Xiehe. At the end of this conference, Decision-making Committee Members declared efforts to be taken on promoting teachers development. It will give full play to the advantages of group schooling and principle of East meets West to enhance united development of the Group, schools, kindergartens and teachers. HR Department and Research Department will focus on completing teacher training system. During which, qualified training resources at the Group, government and international levels will be integrated. Database of teacher team will be set up and individual training program will be provided for each one.

The annual Teachers’ Day conference is not only a chance for celebrating, but also an incentive to everyone. Wish we all insist on original intention and set good examples to our next generation to embrace new challenges.
